I just hit my 200th ride today - I know most of you have been driving longer - but in the interest of happy drivers wanted to tell you all about my special 200th pax.
I get the privilege of driving an older lady to / from her church about 2 - 3 times a week. She is really special. She goes to church daily because "I just love God" but she's down to earth and tells me about how she got such great kids ("I hung them by their toes when they misbehaved")
The other day she asked me to come into the church with her as she read her favorite Bible passage about how suffering strengthens us. How true it is!
By the way, her kids pay for her ride when the shuttle for her home isn't available - they really are great kids.
She's got a touch of dementia but she has started to remember me and always says the nicest things ("You're a good girl, you know that?") And sometimes as I help her out of the car she asks if she can give me a hug - the it's the best tip you can ever get!
One of the many reasons I really love this occupation - every day someone gives you something uplifting that you can take with you through the day, and through life.
I hope this little story makes everyone smile.
Uber On!
