Kari works just outside of our metro area and her cell phone service there is questionable at best. No cell reception equals no way to order your Uber. Not to mention that in that spot it's possible to get the "no cars available" notice on the app. So when I told her about UZURV during her first Uber ride with me she was excited about the possibility of actually getting someone to pick her up at work.
Earlier today I heard the tell tale horn of my UZURV app and recognized the drop off location. So I tapped in and Kari accepted me as her driver. When she saw me there, on time, at her place of work where she can't even make a cell phone call - she was ecstatic!
That's just one of the reasons passengers love UZURV. Here are other reasons passengers love the reservation app:
- Women in particular like are more comfortable with women drivers or at least drivers they are familiar with. With UZURV they can choose the driver they want, ride with the person they know and trust.

- How about a driver who is great with seniors or children? Sometimes it's necessary to order an Uber for an aging parent or travel with children. Having a driver who understands the special needs elderly and children might require is a perfect reason to reserve your driver in advance. You'll know up front that your driver is in tuned with seniors and children when you review the detailed driver information.
For drivers UZURV allows you to schedule around other commitments like work, children's school and activities or other commitments. ReplyDeleteIf for some reason you can't locate the app directly through the Apple App Store or from Google Play Store, you can always go to the website, UZURV.com, and link to the app from there. Make sure to download the Driver app (black icon). When you, as a driver, are referring this to your riders, make sure to tell them to download the Rider app (blue icon). They are separate apps. Here's an alternate referral code: 3eoj8no.
ReplyDeleteWhy should the Driver AND the Rider pay UZURV? True, currently the fees are $0.99 to receive and accept a reservation. But that fee is planned to go up to $2.95 for both parties. That's nearly $6 to make a reservation for a trip. Most long rides in my market rarely exceed $20, where the driver keeps approximately $15 (just using whole numbers for clarity). So now the rider pays $23 - of which, the driver winds up making only $12. For what? Uber and Lyft are designed to help passengers by requesting the nearest driver to them. Any system designed to go around this process defeats the convenience that Uber and Lyft were designed for.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment. The Uzurv system provides a concierge type service. People who want personalized service are willing to pay for the ability to choose their driver and be assured that the driver will be there on demand. While it's true their cost *may* eventually be $2.95 per reservation, it's still less than the average tip amount.
DeleteIt's like the former American Express motto: "membership has it's privileges" and to get the privilege of selection, it's worth the price. The customer will be the ultimate decision maker.
As far as the driver paying, drivers also pay Uber to use their technology platform, this is no different. At least it's a set rate. And personally I have made more than double my fee plus I get the referrals and additional tips in person when I take care of my passenger.
It's not for everyone, that's okay. If you don't feel this will work for you or your passenger you're certainly not obligated to use the service.
I just signed up and I think it is a great idea for someone that depends on the driver to be there for them on time. I will be there 10 minutes early so when they are ready to go I will be there to take them. And I have so Fi for them if they need to do work to wherever they need to go. I just want to thank you for letting me be part of this new system I think it's great and for me my rating is one of the best in Jacksonville and I hope this plays a part on who the customer picks.
